Web Sites

This was an interesting project requiring a site redesign and reorganization. Elements and sections had been added which weren't available in the global navigation, and the site wasn't well structured or organized. Using existing elements, like the existing titles and dancing people, and introducing new colorful additions, like the globe in hands with the recycling arrows and arrows for section navigation, I created a new, more functional site with greater visual appeal.

Implemented and enhanced client's basic design and layout, creating button schemes and optimizing the many product images.

Worked up a theme based on the core market for the client, vending machine businesses. Went through many draft proposals before the final scheme was selected.

Only took a few draft ideas to come up with the selected theme inspired by their existing paper brochure.

Though I did all the design and develpment for the Poe site originially, the site owner took it over to try his hand and do his own thing with it. The original site is linked from the current site, but it can be seen here as well.

I'm not currently maintaining the site, and it's gone in a completely different direction at this point, but I did the original site design and production while making sure that the site passed basic accessibility guidelines. I came up with several themes to choose from, and then some variations on the selection theme. Check out the working drafts leading to the final design.

I did the design on this site based on one of those "I want a site just like this one." situations, yet I feel it's important that each site is differentiated with its own unique look and feel. I came up with a range of colors to test for the mouseover effect, and it was decided to leave it that way rather than choose a single color for all of the mouseovers. Unfortunately, the site has gone the way of the bubble, but I've got it mirrored here for reference.

Working with the photographer's images and the quotes provided, I created this site from concept to implementation.

I collaborated with the person in charge of developing this now nonexistent company's training program for their very interesting software for a better "Live Person" type interface between web site, visitor and help desk personnel. I had to match the corporate site's look and feel while creating a new site for the training program. Unfortuantely, The dot-bombing took its toll on the company, but I've got the training site workup archived here.

I haven't had much to do with the current incarnations beyond some technical consulting, but I did create the original site for The Paper Mill Channel®, based on the client's CD-ROM trade journal for the paper industry. The site originally went live in early 1995 and matched the look and feel of the CD as closely as possible. It had nearly two hours of video, including educational segments, interviews, news, product information and advertising. Some of that content is still on the current sites, which look a lot different from the original. I have it archived, so you can see what it originally looked like.

A personal site (an ancient exercise in structure, navigation and meta tags) where I also display my enthusiasm as an amateur photographer. Unfortunately, I also demonstrate the all too common lack of energy in fully developing content for the site.
